There have been more protests and strikes over the past few years than at any time in a generation, yet what we see and hear about these struggles (if we do at all) is overwhelmingly from the perspective of a hostile corporate elite—just six companies control 90% of U.S. media! Meanwhile, much of the press that identifies as left or independent has failed to consistently provide coverage from the perspective of working-class people and our needs—too often looking the other way or giving cover to the same politicians who are selling us out.
On Strike will offer something fundamentally different. As Kshama Sawant has done for nearly 10 years as an elected socialist in office, On Strike will fearlessly call out the betrayals and bring a fighting strategy for working people to win what we need. We will go to where workers’ struggles break out, whether in workplaces or on the streets, and talk to those on the frontlines while opening up necessary debates about the way forward for our movements.
