Trump’s ICE has brutally murdered Keith Porter, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti, and is spreading terror in cities across the nation. Trump’s agenda is horrendous and dangerous. But the brutal anti-immigrant, anti-worker agenda is bipartisan. Both Democrats and Republicans have created, funded, and expanded the ICE machinery over more than 2 decades.

Hundreds of thousands of working and young people have courageously protested and risked arrests, faced down teargas and pepper spray, and endured other violence from ICE agents and police departments. But to shut down ICE and defeat Trump, working people need to organize strike actions, including general strikes, to pose a real threat to both Trump and the Republican and Democratic parties and to shut down the profit machine of the billionaire class. In order to build for strike actions, rank-and-file workers and union members will need to build independently in order to overcome the opposition of most of the labor leadership.
