BRING DOWN TRUMP!
NO WAR ON GAZA & IRAN!
NO WAR ON IMMIGRANTS & WORKERS!
On No Kings Day tens of thousands rallied and marched in Chicago in opposition to Donald Trump, the unprecedented attacks on immigrant communities by ICE, and US support for the Israeli regime's genocidal assault on Gaza. As Netanyahu tried to give himself a political lifeline by bombing Iran, Trump backed the Israeli regime with his first use of the 30,000 pound "bunker buster" bombs delivered by aircraft that only the US owns. Many times in history, such testing out of new weapons precedes a major war. Such actions can have devastating effects for the region and right here at home dragging American troops into yet another forever war in the Middle East.
The vast majority of Americans, including many on the rightwing of Trump’s base, oppose expanded US military action around the globe. If this is added to the massive opposition to attacks on immigrants and oppressed communities we can see the space opening up for the development of a massive anti-Trump movement. Such a movement would need to connect the struggles of the anti-war movement, the immigrant rights movement, the labor movement and more. It would also need to stand on its own, independent of the Republican and Democratic parties which created the space for Trump’s return to office in the first place.
Given such realities it is more urgent than ever that activists, organizers, their organizations and working people of all backgrounds have a space to democratically discuss the next steps for the movement. Workers Strike Back hopes to help facilitate some of this discussion at our next monthly meeting. All are welcome to attend and help discuss next steps to fight the ICE raids, and end the attacks on Gaza and Iran.
