Tax the rich! We need a fighting strategy TO WIN medicare for all.
Two-thirds of American working people support universal public healthcare coverage. But it will not be won by appealing to Democratic politicians like AOC, Bernie Sanders, or Pramila Jayapal. They refused to fight for it when there were historic opportunities to win it, and instead bring proposals in meaningless, performative gestures.
Working and young people need to go on the offensive against the health insurance industry and CEOs who profit from denying people healthcare. We need a fighting strategy, including mass protests and strike action, to win Medicare for All. We need to build a powerful mass movement, independent of both parties of big business, prepared to tax the rich billions of dollars to fund a free public healthcare system, including full coverage for dental, vision, abortion and gender-affirming care. And we need a new party for working people independent of billionaires and their political servants.
Instead of just talking about Medicare for All, we need to wage a battle to win it, starting with city and state ballot initiatives for free public healthcare. These can act as a launchpad to win Medicare for All nationally.
